Ted Smillie

Ted is Managing Director, Montrose Computer Services Pty Limited, former National Chairman, Software Quality Association (SQA) and former ASMA/SQA NSW Chairman. His specialties are Software Process Improvement, Software Project Management, Software Quality Assurance & Testing and Software Risk Management.

Ted has project managed numerous IT process improvement and certification programs and is a qualified ISO 9001, ISO 20000 and ISO 27001 lead auditor. He has run many training courses in Australia and overseas and has consulted to a wide range of clients, including Australia Post, Australian Quarantine & Inspection Service, Optus, RailCorp NSW and RTA NSW. Ted is a member of the Australian Computer Society and a Fellow of the Chartered Insurance Institute.


Jeff Lock / Treasurer

Jeff LockJeff is a founding member of the Software Quality Association (NSW) and has been the treasurer of SQA (NSW) and now QESP for some 20 years.

Jeff has been employed with the Department of Education and Training for close to 20 years as an IT Auditor and prior to that with Westpac Banking Corporation within their IT Security unit.

 

 

 

 


Robyn Lawrie / IFPUG Representative and Vice Chair, Metrics

Robyn LawrieMs Robyn Lawrie is a director and principle consultant for CHARISMATEK Software Metrics.  She has more than 35 years of IT Industry experience. A major focus of her career is the improvement of the software process in general and, in particular, the use of metrics in Software Requirements Management.

Robyn provides consultancy and training services in Software Measurement, both in Australia and internationally.  She is speaker at various conferences, such as the Australian Conference on Software Measurement (ACOSM) and International Function Point Users Group (IFPUG). She is a member of a number of IFPUG Working Committees.

Robyn is the Subject Matter Expert and Product Manager for CHARISMATEK’s Function Point WORKBENCH™.

 


Julian Day / Public Officer

Julian DayJulian has over 30 years experience in the ICT industry and entered the computer industry as a trainee sales & support executive with Burroughs in 1976. He has consulted to many large private and public organisations in areas of strategic planning, software design, software development, development standards and software evaluation, including group facilitation, implementation of ISO standards, project management and quality assurance.

Julian is previous NSW State Chairman of the Australian Computer Society and was founder of the Australian Information Technology Society.  He has presented papers at conferences in the UK, USA, New Zealand, Australia, and throughout Asia. He was editor of the popular Australian magazine ‘SoftWare’ and has written many published articles for a variety of IT and business publications. He is a member of the Australian Computer Society and the Australian Institute of Company Directors.

 


Melanie Cheong / Vice Chair, Process

Melanie ChongMelanie Cheong is a Consultant with over 18 years experience in the energy, IT, telecommunications and financial sectors. She has institutionalised process-based ISO 9001 quality management system, IT processes and measurement systems, lead ISO/IEC 15504 and CMMI process assessments and managed and reviewed ISO/IEC 38500 IT governance and audit-inspired IT security, risk and compliance. She has been involved in software engineering standards development and review since 1996, and has written and presented papers on emerging needs and developments in the ISO/IEC JTC1/SC7 arena and case studies on quality implementations. She is a member of Standards Australia committee IT-015 and co-editor of ISO/IEC 30105-3: IT Enabled Services / Business Process Outsourcing Lifecycle Processes (ITES-BPO): Organization Maturity Framework & Process Measurement Framework. Melanie is a QAI Certified Software Quality Analyst (CSQA) and ISACA Certified in the Governance of Enterprise IT (CGEIT).


Hilda Rozenberg / Vice Chair, Quality

Hilda RozenbergHilda is a vice-chair of QESP with responsibility for Quality and Best Practices in Software and Services.

Hilda is an experienced senior manager; leader, consultant and project manager specialised in management systems, testing methodologies and IT industry standards.

Hilda is a member of the BSI committee that has established the standard for IT service management ISO/IEC 20000, and also participated in the international committee that defines the relationships between IT service management and ISO 9001:2000.

Hilda is a former Chair of Certifications and Qualifications of itSMFA (IT Service Management Forum Australia), and she has developed a certification scheme for ISO/IEC 20000 certification in A/NZ.

Hilda is a Senior Member of the American Society for Quality (ASQ), and has been invited to numerous workshops and forums by the OECD (Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development).

Hilda has worked for IBM, Unisys, and Siemens in global and local roles, and has created full testing and quality organisations for small and medium companies.

Hilda holds a second degree in Science, Chemistry, a diploma in Computer programming, is a certified ITIL Service Manager, a certified CMM Team Assessor, a certified ISO/IEC 20000 Consultant and Lead Auditor, a certified ISO 9001:2000 Lead Auditor. Hilda has completed several Project Management courses from Washington University, US.

Hilda has a passion for languages and is fluent in English, Spanish, French, and Hebrew, semi-fluent in Italian and is currently studying German.
