ICT Today: New Opportunities and Threats in Software Management

The QESP 2016 Australian Conference on Software Management (ACOSM16) will be held in Sydney on Thursday 23rd June 2016, at the Menzies Hotel, Sydney Room. ACOSM16 is conducted in partnership with the Australian Computer Society (ACS) and the PMI Sydney Chapter. QESP, ACS and PMI Members will receive discounts.  Attendees can earn 8 PDU’s or CP Hours.

Who Will Benefit?

This Conference is a must for anyone involved in ICT management in both the private and public sector. It is about day to day issues affecting ICT management and staff. It is also about ICT’s current and growing role in fostering economic growth and social equality, with implications not only for social welfare and productivity but more broadly for political and economic outcomes.

Questions now being asked by industry leaders, management and staff include:

  • Is there still a future in the ICT industry for the traditional Internal IT Department and the CIO?
  • Why have some Enterprise Agile/Disruptive/Innovative approaches succeeded but others failed?
  • Can new metrics show the way to removing systemic ICT industry barriers to progress?
  • How can ICT act as a business enabler as demand for new and emerging technologies continues to grow?
  • What are the new Project Manager skills, not taught in traditional project management training?
  • Is unconscious bias still clouding perceptions about women in ICT and in leadership?
  • Why do most startups fail and how can they avoid it?

The 2016 Australian Conference on Software Management will address these questions and others, with talks and discussion forums featuring distinguished ICT industry leaders and practitioners. Take this chance to network and to benefit from a range of topical, practical and sometimes controversial advice for organisations large and small.

The Conference is single Stream, with two Forums which will be run as panel sessions at the end of the morning and afternoon sessions, involving any of the earlier speakers who can attend. The focus is C-suite rather than technical but will include new aspects of project management and measurement.
