Welcome from the Chair

Welcome to our new-look QESP Newsletter and website. Both have been updated to better communicate with our members, and provide online support for

  • Member access to the Knowledge Base and resources
  • Member participation  and networking via the Forum
  • Keeping our Members up to date with the latest software industry trends and initiatives.

This marks a renewal of QESP commitments to the ICT industry, to deliver leadership and promotion of best practices amongst ICT practitioners.

Our audience includes ICT industry decision makers and specialists, from both government and the private sector.

The Newsletter aims to offer clear, succinct information on current issues, together with practical advice on how to address them. The Theme of the current Issue is New Ideas and we cover:

Security of Mobile Devices, including Bring Your Own Device (BYOD.)

“Already, BYOD experts are anticipating a flood of employee lawsuits over privacy and overtime.”

Quality in Offshore Delivery

“As offshoring continues to grow, it is clear to clients and providers that the focus is shifting from cost to quality.”

Towards Reducing the Costs of Benchmarking

“However it is done, there is usually a significant cost associated with benchmarking…. Recently, two new but very different initiatives have sought to address some of these difficulties.”

Big Data: Foundation for Hyper-Personalisation

“While big data has grabbed the attention of organisations and governments alike, business and IT leaders are struggling to understand the full benefits it has to offer.”

The next big QESP event will be the 2013 Australian Conference on Software Management (ACOSM13) which will held in Sydney in late November. Don’t miss the next issue of the Newsletter with all the details about the conference.

Please visit our new website www.qesp.org and give us your comments and suggestions for further topics or new ideas.
