Podcast 21: Why Australia sucks so much at EVs FFS | with Ketan Joshi
Here’s the podcast companion to our Honest Government Ad about Electric vehicles!
The HGA has had a great reach – with over 1M views across our pages just in the first week.
But now the podcast gives us a chance to have a much more detailed discussion about this topic, and I’m stoked to have as my guest one of my favourite communicators on Australia’s climate and energy policies – Ketan Joshi – who takes us on a journey from Norway, which has succeeded in electrifing its transport system; to Australia, which is failing at it; all the way to the Victorian State Government which is trying to introduce a tax on EVs… FFS.
You can listen to the full version of this interview on our podcast; which you can also find by searching for The Juice Media Podcast on your podcast app.

Advanced Technique for Developing Digital Twins Makes Tech Universally Applicable
UT News May 20, 2021
‘Researchers at the University of Texas at Austin (UT Austin), the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), and industry partner The Jessara Group have developed what they’re calling a universally applicable digital twin mathematical model. The framework was designed to facilitate predictive digital twins at scale. MIT’s Michael Kapteyn said, “Using probabilistic graphical models, we create a mathematical model of the digital twin that applies broadly across application domains.” The researchers used this technique to generate a structural digital twin of a custom-built unmanned aerial vehicle equipped with state-of-the-art sensors. Said Jacob Pretorius of the Jessara Group, “The value of integrated sensing solutions has been recognized for some time, but combining them with the digital twin concept takes that to a new level. We are on the cusp of an exciting future for intelligent engineering systems.” ‘
